ToolChest provides free online tools like QR code generator or calculator. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use them.
The short version
Every tool on ToolChest runs entirely in your browser. Text you type, colors you convert, codes you generate or scan, and photos you upload to the QR scanner are processed locally on your device and are never sent to, or stored on, our servers.
What we don't collect
- We do not require accounts, sign-ups, or logins for any tool.
- We do not store the text, numbers, colors, or images you enter into any tool.
- The QR scanner's camera feed is analyzed on your device only; video frames are never uploaded or recorded.
- We do not sell personal data, because we do not collect any through the tools themselves.
What is collected automatically
Like almost any website, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you request. This is standard server-log data used for security and reliability, and isn't used to identify you personally.
Third-party services we use
- Google Fonts — we load typefaces from Google's font CDN. Loading a font involves your browser making a request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address, in line with Google's own privacy policy.
- Advertising — some pages reserve space for ads (e.g. Google AdSense). If and when ads are active, the ad provider may set cookies and use device information to serve and measure relevant ads, in line with their own privacy policy. You can control ad personalization through your Google account settings or browser privacy controls.
- Analytics — if we add basic, privacy-respecting analytics in the future (for example, to see which tools are popular), this section will be updated to name the provider and what it collects.
Cookies
ToolChest itself does not set cookies to track you across visits. Cookies may be set by third-party services described above (fonts, ads, analytics) if and when they are active on a given page.
Children's privacy
ToolChest is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, since the tools don't require any personal information to use.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, when we enable analytics or ads — we'll update the "last updated" date above and revise the relevant section.
